These babies will range from 45-65 pounds full grown. Oquirrh has a non-shedding gene and Maple is low shedding so these puppies will shed very little.
Price is $1200. I always wondered where the cost of these puppies came from when I was saving up to buy one. In an effort to better inform the buyer, the price comes from the cost of testing carefully for health and genetics for both the dam & the sire. If you don't own both parents then you pay a stud fee for a quality stud. The stud fee ranges depending on his quality of temperament and coat, shedding or non-shedding genes, coloring and of course his genetic & hip health. Additionally there is careful, intentional, structured work put into the raising the puppies and high quality vet care.
These puppies are being raised with ENS.
The following is a description from AKC:
"...ENS is conducted once daily from the third to the 16th days, a period believed to be a time of rapid neurological growth and development. The US Military developed this method designed to improve the performance of future military working dogs, according to the Breeding Better Dogs program. ...the result being an increased capacity that later will help to make the difference in its performance."
The puppies are held for 3-5 seconds cradled in your hands with their head upward. Then gently held upside down followed by being cradled in your hands belly up and gently tickling their paws. Lastly their placed on a cool rag to feel the temperature change. None of these exercises are done if the puppy is in stress. They are all performed in such a gentle way that the puppies learn they can calmy adapt to tiny amounts of stimulation.
"ESI is a practice where puppies are exposed to different scents during their critical developmental stages, typically starting as early as 3 to 17 days after birth. This process usually involves placing a scented item near the puppy, allowing it to investigate and familiarise itself with the scent. This can range from natural odours such as leaves and soil to human made ones like varios fabrics or tools. While a simple process, it can have profound and lasting effects on a dog's life. By leveraging the critical developmental window and a dog's inherent olfacory capabilities, ESI fosters cognitive growth, confidence, and adaptability."
